I Will Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab For Cutie

  3. Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks

“Now were torn torn torn apart, there’s nothing we can do…

                      Just let me go…

                          we’ll meet again soon..”

Song = My favorite of like the past couple of months.

Its like sad lyrics, but like happy fun kinda beat, and i love it.

I’m like happy, but then underneath i feel the fast kindof angry-sadness that goes along with it. Its fun, and awesome.

Anyways. The real song talks about death of things, and regrets, and forgiveness.

The song plays upon the idea that after all those things that the one who theyve been missing, still lives in there dreams. No matter what has all happened.

It also plays on the back & forth between the two genders of the singers which ive always loved the overlapp of the man and woman singing back and forth to each other. So that might explain my intense love for this song.

“Dont listen to a word that I say!

          Hey!

The screams all sound the same!

                  Hey!

Though the truth may vary, this ship will carry our… bodies straight to the shore.”

  5. Coldplay - Yellow

“Look at the stars, look how they shine for you… And everything that you do, yeah, they were all yellow…”

The definition of someone. Played out in a simple word. You wouldn’t have seen it, nope you wouldn’t have seen it if it were just the word. If you had never met the person. But this lyricist not only gives you an idea of this person through his words, but he more importantly shows his reaction to them. That is the most astounding part of this to me. He shows us the importance of them, by showing us how he respects and adores them.

I think that people are not defined only by the things they do but by the worth someone put into them. I don’t find as much worth in myself. but sometimes that vote of confidence, from a friend, from a family member… gives me hope that maybe someone out there sees what Ive been trying to emulate. Maybe one day someone will see me and try to define who I am as simply and beautifully.

“I came along, and wrote a song for you… and all the things that you do. And it was called… Yellow.”

  6. Snow Patrol - Run

“And I can barely look at you but every single time I do
I know we’ll make it anywhere away from here….

Light up, light up ….As if you have a choice …Even if you cannot hear my voice
I’ll be right beside you, dear”

This song is beautiful. Its funny how I choose such haunting songs, these songs that talk about how much the heart cries out for another. Maybe it’ll just be my mood for the first little bit. Hopefully that doesn’t put you off.

This song though, it effects me. The one he sings about is going to light up anywhere they are, is going to be bright. But this song is assuring. No matter where you are dear, ill be beside you. The place they are brings them down, weather its the city, or the people that surround them. His emotion is fierce.

To run. The only option, to explore. To get out of that place into a new one where they can shine. Whether it be apart, or together.

It speaks to my life. I am always afraid. The ones I love are going away, doing great. Having good lives after they get out of this suffocating area. I want to get out. I can’t yet but I will. I’ve made plans to travel, during my next few years and when I graduate college I plan on moving. And hopefully moving at least twice. I don’t wanna be afraid anymore.

Taking it to heart, no matter how much it hurts.

“To think i might not see those eyes, it makes it so hard not to cry… and as we say our long goodbyes, I nearly do.”

  7. DashboardConfessional - Shirts and Gloves

“& Ill call you on your cellular phone

and tell you tv night was lonely without you…

                                                                             and so was I..”

I turned on Pandora at my work and this first song, was just so heartfelt in its confession and yet so simple. It tugs at my heart for how similarly it can be applied to my life. But I don’t really wanna think about that.

                                Still, the Lyrics haunt me.
